Win a copy of Carleton Watkins in Yosemite
Carleton E Watkins was one of the first photographers to capture the beauty of the Yosemite Valley in California. He produced almost 700 photographs of the region from 1858. This hardback book contains 49 of his large-format photographs from the collection of the J Paul Getty Museum, including images of the Mariposa Grove of giant sequoia trees, pristine views from the Merced river and stunning images of El Capitan, Half Dome, Bridalveil Fall, Cathedral Rocks and the Three Brothers. The introduction to the book is by Weston Naef, the senior curator in the Department of Photographs at the J Paul Getty Museum.
