Samsung launch their latest Android with the photographer in mind

Featuring 16.3MP, 21x optical zoom, 16M BSI CMOS sensor and Full HD video, Samsung’s newest addition has all the makings for a neat compact device. At first glance it looks like a camera but when you explore its capabilities you’ll soon find that the phone functions like any other, including the all-important 3G/4G and wi-fi connectivity, 8GB of storage plus a micro SD card slot to hold all your stills and movies, as well as a whole host of Google mobile services. The Galaxy Camera with the latest Android OS 4.1, Jelly Bean and wireless network connectivity claims to be a new device that combines leading-edge camera capabilities where users can shoot, edit and share high-quality images easily anywhere, at any time.

At the Samsung launch in Berlin Andy Rubin, Senior Vice President of mobile and digital content at Google congratulated the Samsung team on their latest release: “When we first started work on Android, we envisioned building a smart camera that would take digital photography to the next level. The Galaxy Camera is an innovative product that speaks to the openness and flexibility of the Android platform.”

• The ‘Smart Pro’ feature makes it easy to recreate advanced photographic setups in just a few simple steps for artistic results. Using the easy-to-navigate menu system, users can choose from a series of preset scenario options, which will automatically adjust the camera’s settings
• It features a voice control option, which allows the user to control a number of functions such as ‘Zoom in’ and ‘Shoot’ through voice
• Edit your images on the go with a comprehensive set of 35 photo editing features
