World Heritage Site launches 'What Makes Britain Great' competition
Blenheim Palace, World Heritage Site and birthplace of Winston Churchill, has launched a photography competition inviting people to capture what makes Britain great.
With so much to celebrate in Great Britain this summer, 2012 is set to be a brilliant year to visit Britain. To mark the occasion Blenheim Palace have opened up the ‘What Makes Britain Great’ competition to all with the chance to win an iPad amongst many other prizes.
From the Queen's Diamond Jubilee to the Olympic Torch Relay and the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, the eyes of the world are on the UK this year. Blenheim Palace is looking for photographs that capture everything ‘Great’ about Britain with your own interpretation: British people, British places, British events, British landmarks - anything that encapsulates the spirit of this great nation can be entered into the competition, as long as the picture is taken in Great Britain of course.
There are plenty of events taking place at Blenheim Palace to provide inspiration this summer; from Jousting Tournaments in August to a gardens installation of ceramic flowers for the cultural Olympiad from June to September, and so much more.

Let's show the world how ‘GREAT’ Britain really is by sharing the best parts through the Blenheim Palace 2012 photography competition.”
To enter simply upload your best photograph to the Blenheim Palace Facebook page www.facebook.com/blenheimpalace or website www.blenheimpalace.com by 30 August for your chance to win an iPad 2 and other great prizes! The top 50 finalists will be selected by a public vote and the winner and runners-up prizes will be selected by Blenheim Palace and studio8. All images will be created into an online gallery to permanently remember this amazing year in British history.
