Exhibitions
A new exhibition opening on 30th June celebrates London from the late 1800s to early 1940s.
LONDON IN BLACK & WHITE: A Photographic Celebration will be on show at Tower Bridge in the West walkway. The 60 images sourced from London Metropolitan Archives offer visitors the chance to step back in time as far back as the late 1800s and immerse themselves in the rich seam of history that surrounds Tower Bridge, the Pool of London and the surrounding areas.

THE TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR exhibition opened last week at the Royal Geographical Society. With TPOTY celebrating its tenth year, the exhibition this year is bigger and better and also includes Elephants! As well as extending the exhibition to eight weeks to coincide with the Olympics, they are hosting TPOTY Live in October with guest speakers including Eamonn Mccabe, Chris Weston, Steve Bloom, Colin Finlay and Timothy Allen plus many more.

Festivals
THE EYE INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL opens today until Sunday in Aberystwyth Wales. Join UK and international photographers for a packed programme of talks, discussions, interviews, portfolio reviews and exhibitions. The line-up includes celebrated Magnum photographer David Hurn; Eamonn McCabe, Guardian Picture Editor and award-winning wildlife photographer Andy Rouse.

If you visit THE EYE INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL why not stop off and watch Heinz Butler's film The Impassioned Eye, described as “a mature, evocative biography of the man considered to be the greatest photographer of the last century and the grandfather of photojournalism. The film includes interviews with Cartier-Bresson himself, Isabelle Huppert, Arthur Miller and other cultural luminaries. Sounds like a great watch to me!
