First Look: Olympus TG-1

Yesterday we got our hands on the new Olympus Tough TG-1. This high-end rugged and waterproof camera is perfect for anyone into sports, with the ‘Tough’ being waterproof to 12m (40ft) and shockproof from a height of 2M (6.6ft). Even the special guest – six time British Champion and Olympic skier Chemmy Alcott thought it would be perfect to take out skiing. Here PP Art Editor Rebecca Stead captured her jumping using the sports mode at 60 fps.

It seems like a great little camera – lots of filters to choose from, a compass and also fish eye and telephoto lenses too - but what we really want to do is try it out in wet conditions. Wouldn’t be too difficult with the weather we’re having at the moment!

We were lucky enough to have a play with the TG-1 in the evening.

This gave me an idea for a new take on "Beer Goggles"
