Fujifilm Student Awards 2013 open to all students this year

Fujifilm Student Awards 2013

For the first time, and in its 28th anniversary, the Fujifilm Student Awards 2013 will be accepting entries from all students, as opposed to photography students only, which has been the entry criteria in the past.

This decision was taken following several requests from students who are keen photographers but not actually studying photography.

The theme for this year’s award is 'The Colour Of….' with students being briefed to capture an image that illustrates how colour lights up their world. All images must be taken on Fujifilm Professional film and submitted here. Entry is free and students can enter as many photographs as they wish.

This year also sees the introduction of a monthly ‘Curator’s Choice’ where one image will be selected and featured on the Award’s website and social media channels. Metroprint will present the winner of each monthly award with a free 12” x 16” professional produced print of their winning image as well as 10 rolls of film provided by Fuji. Each monthly winner will also feature in the winner’s exhibition. Additionally the college or university that submits the most entries will win £200 worth of Fujifilm Professional film.

A familiar face will also be seen again in the sponsorship by Metroprint. The online branch of Metro Imaging, Metroprint will be supplying the winner with a portfolio of prints and a one-to-one printing/consultancy session with one of their top printers. They will also be producing all the prints for the final exhibition that will take place in summer 2013. In addition to being named Fujifilm Student Photographer of the Year 2013 the winner will also be presented with £200 worth of Fuji film.

The closing date for the competition is the 29th April 2013. For further details of the competition visit fujifilmstudentawards.co.uk or metro-print.co.uk/MetroprintsponsorFujifilmStudentAwards2013
