Extreme sports competition winners

Mark Castein

We set you the task to show us the best of your extreme sports photography following our 5 hot tips on the subject. We've had a look through the entries so it's time to announce our three winners!

There were some really great entries, which showed how clued up you all are on what makes great extreme sports photography; there were some great action shots and interesting angles but sadly we could only pick three winners from the amazing bunch and here they are:

Winner number one is 'briang' for his awesome shot below of the biker riding the ramps. The action has been crisply captured as the shot coinciding with the jump has been timed to perfection. The angle is also quite interesting as his foot is coming towards the camera and adds a bit of depth to the composition.

Our second winner is Simon Andrew for his interesting time shot of the biker jumping the ramp. It has been captured well and the addition of having the jump stages pasted together gives a great sense of movement and speed.

Our final winner is Martin Castein for his brilliant extreme photo below. The shadows add a lot of depth to the composition and the action has been captured well with the spray coming off the brick wall for a real sense of movement.

Well done to all our winners, who will win one of the three camera straps featured on the tip feature and a big thank you to all those who entered! Could our three winners please email their addresses to jade.price@archant.co.uk to have their prizes sent to them please?

Stay tuned for more prizes, competitions and tips here at Photography Monthly with our weekly Friday giveaway.
