Ebooks have advanced further with the latest inclusion of audio and video to really bring your creations to life.

Blurb, the creative publishing platform, has announced a new version of its easy-to-use ebook editor that allows authors to add video and audio to create a vivid, multi-dimensional storytelling experience on the iPad.

“We have effectively turned digital storytelling on its head,” said Eileen Gittins, CEO and Founder, Blurb.co.uk. “You’ll get the familiar structure and narrative of a book, plus the freedom to add multimedia to create a richer, non-linear storytelling experience.”

Blurb is a platform for those who want to create, share, and sell print and digital books. Authors can create their book once and output it to print or ebook format, quickly and automatically.

With Blurb’s enhanced ebook editor, users can add video, audio and other content from their computer, phone or camera to turn it into a multimedia masterpiece.

“Contemporary storytelling like this embraces the way we live our lives today, capturing and consuming media in multiple formats, wherever we go. Plus it’s quick and easily shared with an audience,” Gittins continued.

Blurb’s ebooks are said to be optimised to display images and text so that work is recreated the way it was designed.

Blurb’s authors receive free promotional tools and can sell their books through the Blurb bookstore and will also help ebook authors submit their work to the Apple iBookstore for free.
