Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year

The final call for food photographers to submit their entries to the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year competition has been announced ahead of the closing date on 31 January.

The competition, which is open to amateurs and professionals, is offering a £5,000 prize for the overall winner and seeks to find technical skill, originality and connection with food subject matter.

Competition judges include Alex James, musician-turned-cheese maker, Michelin-starred chef Tom Aikens, and James Averdeick, founder of Gu Chocolate Pud.

The awards cover nine categories, ranging from Food in the Street, Food in the Field, Food for Sale, Food Portraiture and a Young category.

Sixty of the finalist images will be displayed at an open-to-the-public exhibition at the world-renowned Mall Galleries, London SW1 from 25 – 28 April 2012.

Entries will be judged in March 2012 by a highly distinguished panel of experts, ranging from picture editors to publishers, retail directors, chefs and photographers.

All photographers with short-listed entries will be invited to attend the VIP Awards evening at the Mall Galleries on 24 April 2012.
