Cowes Week Photographer of the Year 2009

Mike Foren has taken first place for his amazing image, Lazy Sunday.

He gets to spend a day with Cowes Week official photographer, Rick Tomlinson during Cowes Week 2009. They will have the opportunity to take pictures both on and off the water including 40 different classes of yacht as they crash over finish lines, and the many spectators enjoying the week's festival atmosphere.

He will then be asked to submit a portfolio of 25-30 images to the organisers, which best demonstrates his time spent at the event. He also receives a 60GB capacity ARCHOS 5.

The two runners up, who each receive an Oregon Scientific ATC5K action camera are:

Clive Watkins for his image, Silvery Sea and Brian Goldie for his image, Tranqulity.

Congratulations to Rick. The light in your photo is very pretty. I especially like the warm side light hitting the houses in the background and shining through the sails of all those yachts. Well done!
