Sigma expands superzoom range

18-250mm

Sigma's 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 superzoom is now available for Sony and Pentax mounts. The lens, which won a head-to-head superzoom test in the July 2009 issue of Photography Monthly, had previously only been available in Sigma, Canon and Nikon fits, but now Alpha and K-series users can benefit from its award-winning qualities as well.

Featuring Sigma's optical stabiliser (OS) to reduce camera shake, SLD and aspherical glass elements and a hypersonic motor (HSM) for fast, quiet focusing, the lens will retail for around £560.

Also announced is pricing and availability for Sigma's new 10-20mm f/3.5 wide-angle zoom. The lens, which has a constant f/3.5 maximum aperture throughout the zoom range also uses an HSM motor and SLD glass. Canon, Sigma and Nikon fit versions will arrive next month with Pentax and Sony fitments arriving in August. The recommended retail price is £650.
