Fujifilm compacts released
Waterproof compact
The 10 megapixel FinePix Z33WP is slim at 20mm and waterproof to depths of 3m.
It features picture stabilisation - up to 1600 ISO - to help reduce camera shake, freeze subject movement and improve low-light background. Its face detection function can find up to 10 faces in a frame and work on their focus and exposure for faces, rather than the background.
The camera is also fitted with scene recognition, which automatically detects the potential picture being taken - night, landscape, macro, portrait, night portrait and backlight portrait. In addition it has two self-timer modes – couple and group. Simply select the number of faces to be in the picture and the camera takes the shot once all faces are in the frame.
In blog mode, the camera will re-size images so they can be uploaded to the internet. It is available in five colours: Kiwi Green, Hawaiian Blue, Daredevil Black, Liquid Gold and Rock Chick Pink.
Features:
- Waterproof up to 3 meters, for maximum of 2 hours
- 10 Megapixel sensor for high resolution pictures
- 3x optical zoom lens
- Picture stabilisation
- Face detection technology – with red-eye removal
- SR auto
- Large 2.7 inch LCD screen
- Low-light capabilities for underwater shots
- Protective silicon jacket and wrist strap available
FinePix Z30
This camera packs 10 megapixels, 3x zoom, face detection technology, picture stabilisation, ISO sensitivity to 1600, and scene recognition auto, as detailed above. The camera also has couple and group timer modes and Fujifilm's blog mode.
A step up from the FinePix Z20fd, the compact is available in fuchsia pink, jet black, pure white or tangy orange.
In couple timer mode the camera can detect two faces in a frame and will automatically release the shutter button as the two faces come closer together. It can set at various distances, for example, side-by-side or cheek-to-cheek.
In group mode the camera will detect up to four faces in a frame and set the timer to take the shot when all faces are fully in the frame.
Using the successive movie mode, in-camera editing allows for the creation of a 60 second movie clip, even when shooting in two or more scenes is desired. Start and restart multiple times to build a 60-second compilation, and edit the start and end points.
In addition, users can find and select their favourite shot using a micro thumbnail view, which displays up to 100 thumb images on the 2.7" LCD screen.
