Each month, we speak to established professionals within the photographic industry to bring you insider knowledge.

This month we speak to RockN’RollBride blog Editor KAT WILLIAMS to find out how to approach wedding blogs, and the benefits of being featured on the World Wide Web

WHAT ROLE DOES PHOTGRAPHY PLAY IN YOUR BLOG?                                                                                                              A massive one! In fact photography – or should I say good photography – is the lifeblood of my blog. I have turned down many incredible weddings for features because the photography was bad. If I showcase bad photographs, not only would I be promoting to brides-to-be that this was okay, but the images would make my blog look ugly! And I don’t want either of those things, do I!?

WHAT STYLE OF PHOTOGRAPHY FITS YOUR APPROACH TO THE WEDDING MARKET?
Anything that is creative, artistic and authentic to the style of wedding and the photographer themselves.

WHAT OPPORTUNITIES DO YOU OFFER TO PHOTOGRAPHERS TO GET FEATURED ON YOUR BLOG?
Photographers can either submit weddings or photo shoots tome. All the information about what I require for an initial submission is on my site at www.rocknrollbride.com/submissions. If their submission is accepted, I will let them know via email about what more I need from the min terms of further information, file sizes etc. I also have advertising on my blog; again photographers (or any wedding industry professionals, in fact) can find out more at www.rocknrollbride.com/advertising or by emailing me directly for site info and my rates.

To read more of what Kat has to say, buy the latest issue of Photography Monthly magazine. You will find the full feature in the November issue, in the Turning Pro section.
