Pen y Fan

Pen y Fan is the highest peak in southern Wales and its impressive summit views can be reached in about an hour. The walk is fairly gentle, but this is a real mountain and you must be equipped accordingly. The northern escarpment of the Brecon Beacons is dramatic, and light comes round onto it at dawn and dusk.(Picture by Dave Newbould)
